This option will un-archive the selected mail bundle and prepare it for processing (reading/replying).

Delete Files 1
FILE: Delete Files
This option will delete old mail packets, or old return mail packets. Packets you received have an extension of QWK, and packets you return
have an extension of REP.~

Once you've finished with a QWK packet, you should delete it to
increase your systems disk space.~
~
Do not use OLD QWK packets for replying. Use a current packet. Your Sysop may have changed message areas making your packet out of date.
~
Once you return a REP packet you should delete it, or it will continually be appended (added to).

Export Messages 1
FILE: Export Messages
This choice appends a text file (which you setup as your export file) with the contents of the current message.

Print Messages 1
FILE: Print Messages
This choice prints the current message.
||
Packet Info 1
FILE: Packet Info
This displays information about your current QWK mail packet, and your HOST system.
||
Terminal 1
FILE: Terminal
This allows you to run your terminal without leaving OFFLINE. You can download or upload your mail packets and return to this menu.

Exit 1

This choice exits to DOS.

List/Goto Areas 2
AREAS: List/Goto Areas
Your QWK mail packet contains information about your HOST system, including the message areas you have selected messages from. You must choose an area to operate in. You can also access this list from the Reading area by pressing A. See online help in that area.

Your HOST system can optionally send information to you which would be presented here.

Your HOST system can optionally send Bulletins to you which would be presented here.

Your HOST system can optionally send a list of it's Newest files, which would be presented here.

List/Goto Messages 3
MESSAGES: List/Goto Messages
This allows you to list all the messages in the current Area. You can access this list from the Reading area by pressing M. See online help in that area.

Read messages 3
MESSAGES: Read messages
This choice takes you to the Reading area. This is where you will read your mail. For more information press F1 when you are in that area.

Reply to a message 3
MESSAGES: Reply to a message
This allows you to reply to the current message. You can do this from the Reading area as well, but pressing R. See online help in that area.

Enter a message 3
MESSAGES: Enter a message
This allows you to enter a message in any area. You can do this from the Reading area as well, but pressing E. See online help in that area.

Shell to DOS 4
OPTIONS: Shell to DOS
This allows you to shell to DOS. To return from DOS, type EXIT at your DOS prompt and press ENTER. If you change directories while in DOS, OFFLINE will automatically place you back on the directory you originally shelled from.

Blank Screen 4
OPTIONS: Blank Screen
This blanks your screen for whatever reason you can think of. Press any key to return to OFFLINE.

Color 5
SETUP: Color
This lets you choose the main Color scheme used by OFFLINE.

Monochrome 5
SETUP: Monochrome
This sets OFFLINE to operate in black and white.
||
Directories 5
SETUP: Directories
This is where you setup various directory paths. Each prompt identifies the purpose of each area. See your manual for more information.

Printer 5
SETUP: Printer
This allows you to select DOT MATRIX printers or a basic HP compatible LASER setup for printing messages. You will also be prompted for the applicable parallel port it is connected to. It is not necessary to have a printer attached to set this up.

Archiver 5
SETUP: Archiver
This is where you choose your download/upload archiving system. We recommend using PKZIP for optimum performance.

Editor 5
SETUP: Editor
This is where you choose the editor you will be using to enter or reply to mail.
||
Terminal 5
SETUP: Terminal
This is where you setup your terminal startup command. Just put the exact command you would need to enter at the DOS prompt if you were in the current directory.

Sound 5
SETUP: Sound
Allows you to turn sound on or off.

Reading Area
The following keys display the AREAS LIST: A, Del, or 1.~
The following keys display a MESSAGE LIST: M, Ins, or 2.~
The Arrow keys move to next or previous messages.~
The Esc key or Mouse Button 2 exits this area.~

Other keys: R=Reply to a message, E=Enter a message, F=FIND a message.~
Home=Goto the First Message, End=Goto the Last Message~
If you are in the replys area, K=Kill a message and P~
toggles the Private flag.
